This position will handle a variety of matters, including labor and employment, student, and special education issues. This candidate must be team oriented, and able to perform multiple tasks with attention to detail. 

COMPENSATION: $75.00 – $130.00 per hour. Compensation is commensurate with experience. This is a contract position. 

Adams Silva & McNally is seeking an experienced full-time paralegal (40 hours per week) to support its growing education law practice. This role performs both paralegal and legal secretary duties, as needed. ASM represents public-entity clients and provides a professional work environment. This position is open in Carlsbad, CA.

Daily duties include case filing, file management, client and attorney communications, drafting and proofreading pleadings and correspondence. Court document management, including initiating and editing pleadings and discovery, e-filing with California State Court, Federal Court, and Office of Administrative Hearings, managing busy attorney calendars and calendaring legal deadlines.

Qualified candidates have completed a Paralegal Certificate Program and have 2+ years of paralegal experience: administrative and/or civil litigation experience, capable of researching court rules, possess excellent communication and organizational skills, and strong computer skills using law firm software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, case manager and billing software). Candidates should be team oriented while having the ability to work independently and capable of anticipating the routine needs of law office operations.

This position offers a salary range of $33.00-$42.00/hr. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
